Terms and conditions

These terms apply when you join the Loudoun County Brewers Association ("LCBA", "we"), pay dues, sponsor, enter the Loudoun Beer Awards, donate, or use loudounbeer.org. By submitting a membership application or payment you agree to them.

1. Membership terms

• Who can join. Brewery ($250 a year), Brewery in Planning ($250 a year), Allied Trade ($350 a year). Brewery memberships are for licensed breweries in Loudoun County and nearby breweries that take part in Loudoun's brewing community. Allied Trade memberships are for suppliers and service providers to the brewing industry.
• Voting. Brewery members hold voting membership. Brewery in Planning and Allied Trade members take part in LCBA programs but do not vote, unless our bylaws say otherwise.
• Term and renewal. Membership runs for one year from the date your dues are received. Renewal is not automatic. We will remind you when it is time to renew.
• Approval. Membership begins once your application is approved and dues are paid. The LCBA board may decline or end a membership that does not meet eligibility requirements or that conflicts with the association's mission or bylaws.
• Benefits. Member benefits, such as Beer Awards entries, training discounts, directory features and event access, are described on our membership page and may change from year to year.
• Your listing. Members agree that we may list their business name, logo, photos, address and website on loudounbeer.org and in LCBA promotions. Tell us at any time if something needs to change.

2. Payments and tax status

The Loudoun County Brewers Association is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization. Payments are processed securely through PayPal. We never see or store your card or bank details.

Payments to the LCBA are not deductible as charitable contributions on your federal income tax return. Dues, sponsorships and other payments may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses. This is general information, not legal or tax advice. Please talk with a qualified tax professional, such as a CPA or tax attorney, about your situation. The beer sold through our Annual Charity Collab benefits the partner nonprofit directly. Questions about donations to that nonprofit should go to the nonprofit itself.

3. Refunds

• Membership dues are non-refundable once your membership is active.
• Beer Awards entry fees are non-refundable after the entry deadline.
• If we cancel an event, we will refund or credit the related fees and sponsorships, or apply them to the next event if you agree.
• Paid by mistake or charged twice? Email us and we will make it right.

4. Beer Awards and sponsorships

• Beer Awards entries are subject to the rules posted on the competition details page for that year. Judges' decisions are final.
• By entering, breweries allow the LCBA to publish their name, beer names, styles and results, and to use photos from the awards in LCBA communications.
• Sponsorship packages and benefits are listed on the sponsorships page. Sponsors give us permission to display their name and logo as part of their package and are responsible for having the rights to the logos and materials they provide.
• Event attendees must be 21 or older to be served alcohol and must follow venue rules and Virginia ABC law. Please drink responsibly.

5. Using this website

• Brewery information on loudounbeer.org, including hours, addresses and websites, is provided as a courtesy and may change. Please check with a brewery before you visit.
• A brewery listed in our directory is not necessarily an LCBA member. Member breweries are marked.
• Text, photos and logos on this site belong to the LCBA, our members or their owners. Please ask before reusing them, other than sharing links.
• Links to other websites, such as brewery sites, PayPal and Visit Loudoun, are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
• The site is provided "as is." The LCBA is not liable for losses arising from use of the site, to the extent the law allows.

6. Privacy

We collect only what you choose to send us.

• Forms. When you use our contact, membership or charity collab forms, we receive the information you enter, such as your name, email, phone and business details. Forms are processed by our website host, Netlify, and delivered to LCBA by email.
• How we use it. To respond to you, manage memberships and applications, and run the Loudoun Beer Awards and the Annual Charity Collab.
• We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the association (such as our website host, email tools and PayPal) or when required by law.
• Cookies. This site does not use advertising cookies. Our host may keep basic server logs for security and performance.
• Your choices. Email us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
